The Art of Decorating with Intention is a process I created that helped me decorate differently. The process is inspired by a tool that is used in Feng Shui, the Bagua Map. I discovered how decorative items can be viewed as symbols and when I placed a few of these symbols in specific locations, I realized what I was really doing was creating stories. These were stories of who I want to be and what I want my life to be like. When I found myself feeling stuck in a day job that no longer was feeding my soul, I started decorating my office cubicle and my home from the perspective of stories and symbolism.

Decorating in this manner kept me focused on what was most important to me and eventually, it lead me away from a job and into my dream career as an interior designer. I continue to decorate my home in this manner because it fills me with immense joy. It helps me to constantly redirect myself towards happiness and joy. It inspires and motivates me like nothing else.
