"A few months ago, I attended one of Jody Pear's workshops, called Soul Oasis, and it changed the entire way I look at and interact with every space in my home. Jody introduced the idea that what often gets overlooked when designing an interior space - be it a small desk top or a large great room - is the emotion these spaces can bring out in those who use them. I realized I'd been going about it all wrong - looking for accent pillows to pull in a "look" when I needed to listen to how I felt in those spaces. And I was failing miserably and cluttering up my space with things that not only didn't work, they made me unhappy. Jody stresses the importance of putting items in view that can remind you of what makes you happy. She encourages the use of "soul snapshots," collages of images that speak to you. - On the practical side, I hired Jody to come to my home and help make sense of our awkwardly laid out rooms and the hodgepodge of furniture. I ended up with a fantastic portfolio of detailed layouts for each room, with which I can plan as I am ready to redo each room. It was an amazing process, and she has a way of walking into a room and just knowing how to put the pieces together in a way that is just RIGHT. Like puzzle pieces that fit. She also helped us choose the right paint colors, which is a gift in itself! She's got a true gift for bringing your house together. And now I no longer apologize to people when they come over...I'm proud to open the door and entertain! Thank you, Jody!"
"By adding empathy (genuine interest in our client’s wellbeing) to home design, we want to go deeper with our questions and listen more to the emotional needs being unfulfilled. We use life coaching tools to go from “head to heart”, looking for – and dissolving - thoughts which cause anxiety and prevent action." - Kirsten Steno
House-coaching is adding empathy and purpose to interior design. It transforms lives by creating homes that reflect one's heart and soul.
