Creating A Soul Oasis, online course is now available on Udemy!
Interior designers are taught Maslow's Pyramid of Needs (shown left). However, what they didn't learn in school is that interior design stops at the "love & belonging" stage.
House-coaching dives into self esteem by asking questions like, "Do I see myself in my surroundings?" "Do I apologize when friends visit or am I proud of my home?" Then, we go even deeper, into self actualization. This is what we feel and not necessarily what we see (yet).
A soul oasis provides the foundation for you to live your best life because it reflects your soul and points you to the life you're dreaming of.
"A few months ago, I attended one of Jody Pear's workshops, called Soul Oasis, and it changed the entire way I look at and interact with every space in my home. Jody introduced the idea that what often gets overlooked when designing an interior space - be it a small desk top or a large great room - is the emotion these spaces can bring out in those who use them. I realized I'd been going about it all wrong - looking for accent pillows to pull in a "look" when I needed to listen to how I felt in those spaces. And I was failing miserably and cluttering up my space with things that not only didn't work, they made me unhappy. Jody stresses the importance of putting items in view that can remind you of what makes you happy. She encourages the use of "soul snapshots," collages of images that speak to you. - On the practical side, I hired Jody to come to my home and help make sense of our awkwardly laid out rooms and the hodgepodge of furniture. I ended up with a fantastic portfolio of detailed layouts for each room, with which I can plan as I am ready to redo each room. It was an amazing process, and she has a way of walking into a room and just knowing how to put the pieces together in a way that is just RIGHT. Like puzzle pieces that fit. She also helped us choose the right paint colors, which is a gift in itself! She's got a true gift for bringing your house together. And now I no longer apologize to people when they come over...I'm proud to open the door and entertain! Thank you, Jody!"

House-coaching is adding empathy and purpose to interior design. It transforms lives by creating homes that reflect one's heart and soul.
"We cannot continue to do interior design for the selfish purpose of making money and gaining fame. We need to change the way we bring people home to themselves and serve as midwifes, helping our clients give birth to a home which restores the souls of both individuals and families by reflecting their uniqueness. Doing so with love and empathy with our God given creativity, and within the resources of our clients, the act of House-Coaching will give us all abundance as this is the Divine Law of Love - the more you give, the more you get!"
