My Feather Cloud

It was 8:26 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021. We just finished eating dinner on the back of our boat, something we love to do most summer nights. Our view overlooks a bay and we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a feather cloud that disappeared as quickly as it formed; in moments.


We just returned from a 15-day long boating trip to Mackinac Island that was full of magical coincidences. Larry asked me to start writing a journal to track our trip so I did and I chose to share it on Facebook. Each night I wrote about our experiences of the day and posted many pictures to go along with it. Family and friends would comment and I immediately fell in love with this new habit. I felt as if I had everyone I love, right there with me. It's a habit I've continued with every trip since then.


Today as I write my first entry here, I'm associating my feelings to the moment of my feather cloud. When I looked up the meaning, I read, "Seeing feathers in clouds suggests that it's time to have faith and trust in yourself and your own abilities. It is time to tackle and overcome personal obstacles." That resonates deeply with me. I feel no less grateful and in awe of life then I did that night. Writing to you, sharing stories, experiences, and advice is deeply fulfilling to me. So here I am, writing to you in a new format and excited about all I want to share.
