Moments of Joy
Reflections, Rituals, and the Journey Toward Joy

How One Whisper Led to the Next There’s a quiet kind of awe that settles over me when I look back on this path I’ve been walking—this path of soul expression. It began long before I had the language for it. Before I even knew what a website really was, I asked my friend, Theresa, to create one. I called it Soul Speak. I don’t even remember what I intended to do with it—but I remember how it felt. Soft. Serene. The banner at the top had clouds and flowers. It was gentle. It was me. Years later, when I began writing songs, Soul Speak became the name of that creative space too. I shared stories behind the lyrics and began to see how much I loved pairing words with deeper meaning.
Then came Jody Pear Designs, when I stepped more fully into interior design. At the same time, I was intuitively drawn to make what I now call Soul Snapshots—these collages of words and images that captured the essence of a person or a moment. I didn’t know why I was making them. I just knew I had to. And now, here I am with Morning Joy. A collection of artful mugs, gentle meditations, and soulful reflections designed to elevate ordinary moments into meaningful ones. But something else is emerging alongside this. Just as naturally as I once started creating Soul Snapshots, I now find myself wanting to tell the stories behind the businesses I’m drawn to. I want to articulate the soul of a brand—its heartbeat, its intention, its why. I want to express it through story, through products, through feeling. And as I reflect on it all, I realize something so beautiful: It’s always been the same thread. It’s always been about giving voice to the unseen. About capturing the essence. About honoring what lives beneath the surface. From Soul Speak to Morning Joy, this isn’t a career path. It’s a soul path. And one day, I imagine creating a physical space where all of this can live and breathe. A wellness space filled with beauty and intention, where people can gather, reflect, soften, and reconnect. I already know what I’ll call it: Soul Speak. Because that's what I've been doing all along.
