Tuesday, August 6, 2024: I woke up with a strong desire to get on solid ground. :-) After our arrival yesterday, a few other boats did too and they were in the slips directly surrounding us. As each of us woke up and started talking, we were all complaining how uncomfortable we were from the waves rocking us all night. Larry went to the office to see if we could move to a slip closer to shore and soon after, the other boaters followed. I'm amazed how much calmer the water was just moving towards shore about 8 slips. You could literally see the waves rolling into the slip we left and now we're perfectly still. Such a relief! Today was expected to be windy and wavy and we're very thankful for the open boat slips that were available.
We walked for miles today; around town, to the beach, along the break wall, and to some nearby parks. We also had lots of time to relax and read. We were happy to return to The Bank for dinner. It's such a cool environment with great food! I was excited to crawl into bed early; this time, no rocking. ;-)
