Navy Blue. Elegance. Rich. Sophistication.

2/11/2020

Two different clients are having their kitchen cabinets painted. One was certain she wanted to paint them black and the other one was considering gray. The solution in both circumstances is navy blue.
Black would've been acceptable if they were concerned with following the current trend. Their kitchen is very large with lots of cabinets and an island. Navy blue was the better choice to create a more classic look that isn't quite as dramatic as black.

My second client was undecided between painting her cabinets gray or white. They are keeping their Corian counter tops and ceramic floor tile which coordinate well together. If you look at the color names of Corian, you will see names like sand, whisper, and canvas which lead most people into believing it's a neutral color that will go with anything.

While I didn't identify exactly which Corian color they have, it had a pink undertone. White cabinets would amplify the pink undertone. Gray made it look dirty. Navy blue was the perfect choice to compliment the counters, floor tile, and back splash tile.
While navy blue isn't the solution for everyone, it was wonderful to be able to surprise both homeowners with an option they had never considered.
